Money & commission

Everything financial lives under Money in the dashboard: your Wallet, your Transactions (the commission ledger), your Payment account, and your Plan. This page explains how you get paid, how the platform is paid, and how cash-on-delivery and refunds settle.

How you get paid

For normal online sales (card, mobile money, bank), payment is split at checkout straight to your Paystack subaccount — you receive your share the moment the buyer pays, with the platform’s commission already deducted:

your payout = your goods total × (1 − your commission %)

There is no waiting period or manual payout run for online sales. The Wallet screen tracks your balance for the flows that are billed after the fact (mainly COD commission and any adjustments), and is where you top up or withdraw.

⚠️

You must complete your Payment account — a payout destination (bank or mobile money), a Paystack subaccount, and identity verification (KYC) — before you can go live. Under the no-hold rule, an order that would owe money to a vendor without an active subaccount cannot be paid, so this setup is mandatory, not optional.

The commission ledger (Transactions)

Money → Transactions is your full financial history. Every economic event writes one ledger entry with:

  • a flow type — what kind of event it was (see table below);
  • a directionpayable to you or owed to the platform;
  • a collection methodskim (taken at payment), bill from wallet, or bill from authorization;
  • a statusaccrued → pending → settled (or waived / failed / disputed).

Commission rates & plans

Your commission rate is plan-aware — it comes from your Sellub subscription plan (see Money → Plan & subscriptions). Higher-tier plans generally carry a lower commission percentage. The exact rate applied to each order is snapshotted into that order’s fee breakdown, so historical earnings never change even if you switch plans later.

Cash on delivery (COD)

COD lets buyers pay the rider in cash on arrival. Because no online money moves at checkout, the platform bills you its commission afterward — so COD is credit-gated:

COD is offered at checkout only when, for every seller in the order:
  ✓ COD is enabled on the account
  ✓ there's a credit basis — a funded wallet ≥ floor, or a saved card authorization
  ✓ the order's commission fits your remaining credit headroom
  • On delivery, the rider collects cash; the order is marked paid; the platform records cod_sale (your commission) and logistics_cod (the carrier’s leg) as amounts you owe.
  • A scheduled settlement sweep later collects what’s owed from your wallet, falling back to charging your saved authorization. Repeated failure to settle auto-suspends COD on your account until you top up.
  • The platform never holds the cash principal — the seller and carrier are paid in cash on the ground; only the commission is reconciled.

COD is enabled per seller in Money → Payment settings, subject to the credit check above. It is not something you wire from another vendor.

Refunds

If an order is refunded, the ledger reconciles automatically: any commission the platform retained on the refunded portion is clawed back with an adjustment entry, so your net position stays correct. For split orders, only the affected seller’s portion is reversed.

Wallet & withdrawals

The Wallet holds your balance for billed flows and adjustments. From here you can:

  • Top up — add funds (also used to keep COD headroom available);
  • Withdraw — move your balance to your payout destination;
  • Review — see wallet transactions alongside the ledger.
